The CX 480 pushes boundaries in induction cooktop design with its highly intuitive technologies

Induction cooking is a hot favourite among chefs and serious cooks for a variety of reasons. With fast heating and precision in temperature setting, induction hobs give you ultimate control over cooking. As one of the leading domestic appliance brand, Gaggenau has taken it a step further with the cutting-edge cooktop concept CX 480.

CX 480 is a full-surface induction cooktop, which allows the entire surface of the cooktop to be one large cooking area. This intuitive design eliminates the need for designated cooking zones. How? It detects the cookware on the surface, and confines heating only to the cookware – no matter the shape or size. An extra-large thin-film transistor (TFT) touch display screen indicates the shape, size and position of the cookware.

In addition, this design also allows the induction cooktop to be converted into a teppan yaki. All you need is the optional teppan yaki plate, which is available in two sizes. It’s no wonder then that the made-in-Germany CX 480 has won design accolades, among which are the iF communication design award for the extra-large TFT colour touch display, as well as the iF product design award in gold given to designer Soren Strayle for his innovative design.

CX 480 is now available at the Gaggenau Experience Centre and its authorized dealers.
